Watson says the beds allocated by the province are half of what SAH had applied for early last year and she talks about what those plans were as outlined in the application…

The updated application may include moving ahead with a 128 bed facility with the hope of expanding to 256 beds down the road.
Work done on last year’s proposal indicated that a new facility could be up and running within 2-and-a-half years following ministry approval.
Last year, two long-term care operators in our community managed to secure 88 new long-term care beds.
