City PoliceOPP   City police arrested a 39-year old man as it is alleged the accused assaulted his common-law spouse during an argument.  Police had been responding to a 9-1-1- call at a residence in the west end yesterday morning.

A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of 2nd Line west.  Electronics, jewellery and cigarettes were reported stolen.

City police arrested 20-year old Jacques Fortier of Old Garden River Road yesterday afternoon and charged him with 2 counts of threatening to cause bodily harm.

City police arrested a a 21-year old woman and charged her with one count of assault.  It is alleged that she punched her boyfriend and repeatedly hit him.  The complainant received injuries but did not require medical treatment.

City police charged a 24-year old man with 5 counts of assault and three counts of threatening.  It is alleged that between June 2014 and July of his year the accused assaulted his now ex-girlfriend by punching and grabbing her on 3 occasions and assaulted the complainant’s children by grabbing them and further threatened to burn the complainant’s house down with her and her children in the residence.

City police charged 22-year old Tyler Holmberg of Hill Street with one count of assault as it is alleged that the accused punched a male known to him.

A report of a residence being broken into on Chapple Street however it appears nothing was taken.

A report of a window being broken and entry gained into St. Basil’s School on St. George’s Avenue.  It appears nothing was taken.

A report of a purse being taken from a vehicle on Dacey Road.

Change was reported taken from a vehicle on Pardee Avenue.

Sault OPP charged a 50-year old area man on Friday evening with driving over the legal limit for alcohol and two counts of driving while under suspension.  Charged is Steven Pruce from Aweres Township.

OPP in Elliot Lake received a complaint from a resident on Poplar Road in regards to damage to a vehicle on Friday in the overnight hours.  Two tires were slashed on a 2008 Hyundai Accent.  Police were told by the complainant of previous incidents where tires were slashed and the vehicle spray painted.
