City staff is recommending that council give the go ahead for a one-year pilot project introducing fan-friendly pricing for Greyhound games for the upcoming season.
The pricing system would feature 5-dollar beer taxes included and a fan-friendly hotdog-french fry-popcorn option for 3-dollars taxes all in——in each case the reduced prices would only be offered at select concessions.
A report will be brought back to council following the upcoming Greyhound season that will outline the impact the pricing had to the overall performance of food and beverage sales at GFL Memorial Gardens.
Back in 2018 during the Hounds run to the OHL finals, there were record food and beverage sales of 1.15-million dollars.
In 2017, sales were 882-thousand dollars.
In 2018, the city realized a food and beverage net profit of over 291-thousand dollars.
City council meets tonight.
