MNR2   A forest fire north of Sudbury has grown to 438 hectares and is still not under control despite the progress that has been made.  Current weather conditions have helped crews make progress in establishing control lines.  Air support was provided from late afternoon into the evening yesterday in order to keep Sudbury 38 from growing any further.  On Friday, the MNR announced that an Emergency Area Order had been put in place around the Sudbury 38 wildfire.   The area is east of highway 144 and northeast of Halfway Lake Provincial Park.  While the order is in effect, road closures and travel restrictions may occur.
Meantime there are currently 21 active fires in the northeast region—-3 are not under control, four are being held, six are under control and 8 are being observed.
