Shawn Rootenberg – also known as Rothberg – who was at the centre of the recent controversieis surrounding Algoma Public Health for his being hired as interim chief financial officer, despite a criminal background – has served notice he is suing APH as well as the city for about $8 million … claiming defamation, negligence and lost business opportunities in the Sault.  He’d been in negotiations for a coffee franchise at APH, was part of a plan to seek a medical marijuana grow licence and even involved in the Gateway development – when everything hit the fan.
