A ninth Algoma District resident has tested positive for COVID-19.
Algoma Public Health is reporting that the latest case involves a woman in her 40’s who had also been travelling from the UK.
The woman had been travelling on the same flight as the 7th reported case in Algoma which involved a woman in her 70’s.
Both had travelled on March 23rd from London to Pearson International Airport on Air Canada flight AC 869.
They had also travelled from Toronto to Sudbury on Air Canada flight AC 8611.

The pair had sat in the same area during both flights—passengers in rows 18 to 22 on the London to Toronto flight are considered close contacts as are passengers in rows 14 to 18 in the Toronto to Sudbury flight.
The woman in her 40’s is now self isolating after being tested on April 3rd.
