A new study suggests that moderate alcohol consumption could lower your risk for heart disease and stroke.

So what did researchers find?

  • Men who drink two servings of beer a day saw their good cholesterol levels decline at a slower rate than those who abstain from drinking.
  • Women who drank just one beer per day also saw a slower decline in their HDL levels.

The study’s author said

“People who drink in moderation have substantially lower rates of fatal and non-fatal heart disease than those who abstain.”
