DNRThe Michigan Department of Natural Resources is sending four fisheries vessels out for an annual survey of Great Lakes fish populations.  The surveys are designed to examine and collect information on all aspects of Michigan’s Great Lakes fish community.  The vessels determine those populations by collecting data on the Great Lakes, as well as the St. Marys River, Lake St. Clair and Saginaw Bay.  Surveys done involves several type of fish from lake trout and walleye to whitefish and Chinook salmon.  The public is invited to visit the vessels and talk about fisheries assessment operations.  More information can be found online on the State of Michigan website.
