2014 Orazietti cropA major announcement in health care on Friday in Sault Ste. Marie.  2.4 million dollars in provincial funding for 50 new long-term care beds was announced by Sault MPP David Orazietti at Cedarwood Lodge — the former Davey Home.  The money is expected to result in the creation of 55 new jobs.  Other benefits range from reduced wait times to receive long-term care to helping improve the flow of patients in and out of the hospital.  The provincial investment reflects a key component of the Alternate Level of Care Plan for Sault Ste. Marie, developed by the Sault Area Hospital, the Northeast LHIN and other partners.
