Justice Thomas Logan dismissed all but one of the charges laid against Batchewana First Nation and Chief Dean Sayers regarding access to Gargantua Harbour in Lake Superior Provincial Park.  The decision was handed down this morning regarding the 11 charges that were laid by the MNR back in October of 2008 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Act and the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act.  The band and Chief Sayers were convicted of one count of obstruction of justice and the band has been fined 10-thousand dollars and Chief Sayers received a suspended sentence this afternoon.
