The Algoma District School Board is preparing for a major event this spring. Trustees learned the early details of ‘Youthesoo’ at this week’s meeting, an idea that resulted from multiple groups including the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s Parent Involvment Committee. Student trustee Maya Werner says about 5 thousand seats have been reserved for the event, scheduled for May 14th at Essar Centre. Both the public and catholic school boards will be represented. ‘Youthesoo’ is aimed at inspiring area young people to be the change to improve their communities and the world. In addition to ADSB students attending a recent ABCD Anti-Drug Symposium last fall and the Huron-Superior Catholic Board’s Parent Involvement Committee, the Sault Ste. Marie and District Arts Council also suggested the event, and is adding its support through its cultural and worldly aspect to the community.
