Despite a drop in the Sault’s unemployment rate, both the participation rate and employment rate also fell according to the May job stats report from Stats Canada.
The participation rate which measures both the number of employed and those unemployed but actively looking for work dropped 4% to 54.1% when comparing last month to May of a year ago.
The Sault’s employment rate came in at 50.7%—-down from 52.6%.
The Sault’s unemploymen rate dropped by over 3% to 6.4%.
