Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2017 06 26) The City of Sault Ste. Marie would like to advise residents of the following closures on Friday June 30, 2017:
Cemetery office
Centennial Public Library and Korah Branch Library
Jessie Irving Children¡¦s Centre
Civic Centre
Essar Centre office and Box Office
John Rhodes Centre arenas, McMeeken Centre; and Northern Community Centre
Seniors Centres (Drop-In and Steelton)
Public Works office. For 24 hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201
Sault Transit office
Refuse & Recycling Collection
Refuse and recycling pick up will be on regular days. There will be no changes.
City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed on July 1.
Transit Services
Transit and Parabus service will operate as normal on Friday, June 30. There will be no regular transit service on July 1. Only Parabus service will operate on Saturday, July 1. Regular service of Transit and Parabus resumes Sunday, July 2.
Public Library
The Centennial Library will be open on July 1 from 10:00 a.m. ¡V 2:00 p.m.
Ermatinger.Clergue National Historic Site (ECNHS)
The ECNHS is open on June 30 at 9:30 a.m. for Historyfest. At 5:00 p.m. the Site will host Lobsterfest, a ticketed dinner featuring Confederation cuisine and entertainment.
On July 1 Historyfest continues with the Parade of Paddlers arriving from the Sault Canal at ECNHS at 11:00 a.m. The Site will be open on July 1 from 9:30 a.m. ¡V 4:00 p.m.
Marine Facilities
Bellevue Marina is open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The public will have access to the pier to view fireworks: vehicles are asked to park in the main parking lot of the marina. Dock access is
restricted to boat owners. Roberta Bondar Marina and the Sault Canal recreational lock are also open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Pools
The John Rhodes Community Centre Pool is open on July 1 for Parent/Child/Lane Swim 11:15 a.m. ¡V 1:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. ¡V 3:00 p.m. for Public Swim. The Peter G. Manzo and V.E. Greco pools are open 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Canada Day 150 Celebrations
Festivities will take place July 1 at the Roberta Bondar Park Tent Pavilion. Opening ceremonies begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by entertainment and attractions throughout the day with fireworks at dusk.
