Former city councillor and MP Bryan Hayes wasn’t able to convince city council to reconsider a decision regarding the location for the city’s splash pad.
Hayes is the chair of the Downtown Association and made his pitch at last night’s city council meeting.
The Association has been pushing to have the splash pad located downtown at Clergue Park rather then at Bellevue Park which council had decided on back in March.
A resolution calling on council to reconsider the decision that had been moved by ward 5 city councillor Frank Fata and ward 2 councillor Sandra Hollingsworth was soundly defeated 11 to 2.
Councillors Fata and ward 4 councillor Lou Turco had voted in support of the resolution.
