March 22, 2018 – This Sunday Easter Seals Ontario will broadcast its annual Telethon on Shaw TV channel 10. Airing live from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., join the celebration as the Annual Easter Seals Telethon marks its 35th anniversary in Sault Ste. Marie with hosts Shannon Gowans, Tessa Vecchio, Jeff McNeice, Jane Martynuck, Lori Amendola, Ben MacDonald and Jacob Causley-Wilkins. The local broadcast promises to be an exciting event that brings awareness to the challenges and the inspiring victories of children and youth with physical disabilities, while raising imperative funds for Easter Seals kids.

The day will feature interviews with Easter Seals families, cheque presentations from local students, volunteer phone panels, clips from Easter Seals camp and more. Individuals are encouraged to donate online before, during, or after the show at EasterSealsTelethon.org/ssm or by calling in to the show throughout the live broadcast at 705-254-KIDS (4537).

“The Telethon offers us a chance to share inspiring stories of kids who persevere through incredible challenges each and every day,” says Jane Martynuck, Co-Chair of the Sault Ste. Marie Easter Seals Telethon. “It also gives viewers and donors the chance to hear directly from kids and their families about how donations to Easter Seals make a real difference in their lives.”

Funds raised at the Telethon help Easter Seals help provide funding for essential mobility equipment for children with physical disabilities as well as opportunities to attend a fully accessible summer camp, and more.

“We invite everyone to tune in to the Telethon, make a donation and help Easter Seals kids get what they need to be unstoppABLE,” continued Martynuck.

Through the generous support of its donors and sponsors, Easter Seals Ontario provides kids with physical disabilities programs and services that enable them to focus on what they can do rather than on their limitations. Easter Seals helps by providing financial assistance for mobility equipment and communication devices as well as summer camp opportunities at its two properties, Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden.
